energy saving lamps ( http://www.tootoo.com/buy-lamp/ ) are produced in China,
90% of them are China-made. However, with a profit margin of less than 1%, the
Chinese lighting industry ( http://www.tootoo.com/w-Lights_Lighting/ ) is
under severe pressure, with the introduction of the new labor law, rising cost
and decreased export rebate rate worsen the burden even further. It is
reported that one-fourth of corporations is suffering from deep loss

About four or five thousands of small corporations were forced out of the
industry due to spiking raw material costs and revaluation of the RMB. Light
industry has suffered a great depression due to limited real estate and
building materials.
It is believed that the new labor law raises the cost of labor while the
export rebate rate increased the cost of export. The export rebate rate of
electro-mechanical products, apparel and textile has dropped from 17% to 13%.
The export cost increased 1% for each percent drop.

that the profit of most industry is lower that the increase of cost, except
mining of ferrous metals, raw materials and agriculture. Among them, the cost

industry. Take the motor industry for example, every motor used about 9
kilogram aluminum alloy, if the price increase about RMB 1,000 for every ton,
the cost of aluminum alloy for every motor increase about RMB 10. Cost of
plastic also increased because of the rising price of crude oil, adding the
increased cost of steel and some other fittings, the cost of every motor would
increase about RMB 70.
The pressure is also a kind of drive, to determine enterprises that
survive best in worsen economic situations. The government has unveiled many
of policies to support and subsidy technology of energy saving lights, while
customers are becoming increasingly interested in in environmental protection
products. So some enterprises seize the chance of upgrading and set free from
cost pressures.
