Statement from Kirk Yoshida, Chairman & CEO, Ricoh Americas Corporation

[20-August-2008]

WEST CALDWELL, N.J., Aug. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- On behalf of everyone at Ricoh Americas Corporation, I would like to publicly congratulate Mayor Michael Bloomberg on last night's announcement to place wind turbines on top of the bridges and skyscrapers and along the shorelines in New York City. Mr. Bloomberg has been and continues to be an exemplary force in helping to "green" New York City and these latest plans are the next big step in accomplishing these goals. Wind turbines in New York City are, without a doubt, a possibility. As a matter of fact, Ricoh is erecting a sign this fall in Times Square that will be lit 100 percent by wind and solar power. Ricoh is a strong proponent of wind energy, and we have been focused on sustainability for more than 30 years. Our new eco-sign is the first of its kind in the country and it's proof that corporations can develop creative ways to help save energy and assist cities in their mission to become more environmentally sound. We are honored to be erecting our eco-friendly sign in a City whose Mayor is so progressive on this issue and in a City that is completely committed to green initiatives.

Katsumi "Kirk" Yoshida

Chairman and CEO, Ricoh Americas Corporation Deputy President, Ricoh Company Ltd.
